Probably like a lot of people I crave açaí bowls ALL the time in summer. I drool over them on instagram and spend a small fortune buying them when I am on the go. So I spent some time perfecting this recipe for making your own delicious açaí bowl at home.
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 frozen banana*
- 1 tbsp Açaí powder**
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1 cup almond/coconut milk
- Pop everything into a blender and blend until smooth – you can add more coconut water if the mixture is too thick to blend.
- Add you own fruit and granola toppings (I used cacao super mix from The Source).
*freeze any of your overripe banana’s in a container without the peel. This makes it much easier when you are craving a recipe that requires frozen or ripe bananas.
**Açaí powder can be purchased at any good health food store. I purchase mine from The Source Bulk Foods. It costs around $7 for 5 tbsp, but its totally worth it!
