Açaí Bowl

Probably like a lot of people I crave açaí bowls ALL the time in summer. I drool over them on instagram and spend a small fortune buying them when I am on the go. So I spent some time perfecting this recipe for making your own delicious açaí bowl at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 frozen banana*
  • 1 tbsp Açaí powder**
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup almond/coconut milk

Method:

  1. Pop everything into a blender and blend until smooth – you can add more coconut water if the mixture is too thick to blend.
  2. Add you own fruit and granola toppings (I used cacao super mix from The Source).
  3. Enjoy!

Tips:

*freeze any of your overripe banana’s in a container without the peel. This makes it much easier when you are craving a recipe that requires frozen or ripe bananas.

**Açaí powder can be purchased at any good health food store. I purchase mine from The Source Bulk Foods. It costs around $7 for 5 tbsp, but its totally worth it!
